Okay, I”m getting really sad. Didn’t know they were closing all of the Fat Beats stores.  They just had a week of festivities in NY, and now they are having a ton of guest appearances in LA.  Clearly remember the first time I went to NY, I went to Fat Beats and bought a ton of 12″s (and I want to say that Q-Unique or someone else from the Arsonists was the one who helped me?)  Definitely the end of an era…

DJ Haylow & the D2S crew are working on documentary on Roy Ayers!!!  They are scheduled to begin filming in New York from November 6th – November 13th where they’ll conduct interviews with various personalities, as well as filming with Mr. Roy Ayers himself.  If you are able, please make a donation to the project.

Through a rather strange turn of events and the general busy bee-ness of DJ Eko, we ended up chatting with DJ Jon Oliver, the man behind The Main Ingredient on East Village Radio (we were already fans!)  He sent us a bunch of his Juxtapose Vol 2 cds to give away.  You can find them here .   Do check out his site,  www.jonolivermusic.com, where he writes a blog, updates his live dj appearance and lists songs he’d like played at his funeral.
