Zion I – Masters of Ceremony EP

new music Comments Off on Zion I – Masters of Ceremony EP

zioni

via Zion I :

The Masters of Ceremony is the first EP in a series created to fortify the cultural aspects of Hip Hop.  The sole purpose of the MC is to energize, invigorate, and guide the listener to a higher state of mind, whether that be reflection, relaxation or enlightenment. This is the culture and not the business of Hip Hop, to serve as a tuning fork to the emotions, that we may contemplate our current state collectively and forge our collective destiny with heightened perspective. A lot of people MC, but many have no idea what it really means.

bringingthenoise

The 17th Annual Bringing the Noise for Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. in San Francisco, CA at the historic Nourse Auditorium Monday, January 20, 2014 from 7pm – 9pm.
Every year, Youth Speaks gathers the community to celebrate the ongoing life and legacy of Dr. King. Our celebration—Bringing the Noise for Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.—is not a reenactment of speeches, a slideshow, or a polite revue of well-honed platitudes.  It is a showcase of young people from throughout the Bay Area who have written, in their own voices, original works that grapple with the thoughts and work of the man, who are working to demand in their lifetimes—huge leaps into possibility, an ongoing commitment to love like a consuming fire.

Directed by Sean San Jose, this year’s Bringing the Noise for Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Celebration features performances by local Bay Area artists including: members of the San Francisco Jazz All Stars, Danez Smith, Dennis Kim, DJ Dion Decibels and Young Gifted and Black.

7 Days Of Funk Video Contest

new music Comments Off on 7 Days Of Funk Video Contest

CONTEST: MAKE YOUR OWN VIDEO FOR 7 DAYS OF FUNK’S “HIGH WIT ME”.

INFO & ENTRY RULES: http://stonesthrow.com/news/2013/12/7…

Snoop and Dam-Funk want you to make the next video from the 7 Days Of Funk album. The rules are simple: download the audio for “High Wit Me” and the green screen footage of Snoop and Dam-Funk. Then, create your own video using any green screen and/or any other footage you want. Once you’ve completed your video, title it “7 Days Of Funk Video Contest”, upload it to YouTube and notify us at team@stonesthrow.com of your submission. We’ll add your video to the contest playlist for all to see and Snoop and Dam to judge.

You can do anything you like as long as it’s creative – shoot new footage, animation, found footage, Snoop and Dam green screen footage or combinations of all of the above so long as it doesn’t infringe another copyright. Our deadline is February 17, 2014.

After that we’ll announce the winner on February 24, 2014, taking into consideration view counts, comments, and most importantly which video Snoop and Dam like best. 4 Semi-finalists will each get $200 and a 7 Days Of Funk 7″ box set. The winner will get $1,000, a chance to direct an upcoming video for Stones Throw and a 7 Days Of Funk 7″ box set.
