(msg from Nasa):
I had the rare treat of a sit down audio interview with him for my podcast, Uncommon Radio in early 2007. We talked about the beginnings of hip-hop, the evolution of his career and played a bunch of his music including some stuff that was not released at the time. He also dropped a super abstract freestyle at the end of the show.
I’m proud to have gotten the chance to talk with him and with him gone now, I thought this would be a good way for younger generations to now find out more about him.
peace, nasa.

I also wrote a blog post about my day with him doing the show here:

Details are sketchy, but it is being reported that Rammellzee has passed away. A serious innovator, you can see some of his more recent work and philosophy on his site, Gothic Futurism. Condolences to his friends and family.

On the anniversary of Michael Jackson’s death, Aloe Blacc offers up a soulful, bluesy version of “Billie Jean”. R.I.P., MJ.
20 years have passed since the Groove Merchant record store opened up on Haight Street in San Francisco and became the launch pad for the Ubiquity family of labels: Luv N’Haight, CuBop and Ubiquity.
The label will be celebrating this anniversary in multiple ways including an art exhibit at Guerilla Art Cafe in Berkeley opening June 25th, 2010. The show will focus on a handful of the Bay Area funk and soul artists whose music has been re-issued on the Luv N’Haight label. The art show will include paintings of, and inspired by, Darondo, Eugene Blacknell, Sugarpie Desanto, and Twilight, the latest addition to the Luv N’Haight family. The Guerilla Cafe art collective will be painting, and a video montage of vintage footage will be created by Ubiquity Recordings artist Ohmega Watts. Throughout the length of the show Guerilla will be hosting special events featuring guest appearances by the musicians and DJ sets playing their sounds.
