Parra @ Project Space

Uncategorized Comments Off on Parra @ Project Space

Sorry, realize that an opening is never the optimum time to take photos, but these were some of our faves from the Parra show at Project Space.  Top photo is Jamie from Stones Throw with Parra who declared his new works, his “black and white period” (with a laugh).  Prepare yourself for some new shirts from him coming soon…

DJ Shadow Tour Dates

Uncategorized Comments Off on DJ Shadow Tour Dates

Message from Shadow:

Well, it’s nearly that time! After staying off the road for the better part of two years, I’ll be hitting the tour circuit again starting in July, 2010. Many of the countries and cities on the schedule are first-time territories for me, including Greece, Israel, and Finland, and there’s many more to come. Consider this the “between albums tour,” no record to promote, just a chance to get out there and showcase some of the new music I’ve been working on (and yes, some classics as well).   More info & first tour dates here.

Tenderloin Project at Medicine Agency April 9th

Uncategorized Comments Off on Tenderloin Project at Medicine Agency April 9th

The Tenderloin Project from The WereHaus on Vimeo.

Medicine Agency is proud to present the first official exhibition of photographs by San Francisco based photographer Sean Desmond.  The show will feature a collection of 35 photographs from Desmond’s ongoing Tenderloin Project, a portrait in film and photography of San Francisco’s Tenderloin neighborhood.  To many, the Tenderloin is a poor and stigmatized area, to be avoided if possible, rushed through if necessary.  As a point of departure, Desmond and the Tenderloin Project withstand such stereotypes and enter the neighborhood with eyes open and active intent.

Opening Reception: April 9th 7pm

Medicine Agency, 1262 Mason St, San Francisco, CA  94108

with collaborative pieces by:

Mike Giant, Mark Bode, Apex, Oliver Black, Greg Mike & more

A portion of proceeds from the show will be donated to Hospitality House’s Community Art’s Program, the only free-of-charge fine arts studio for homeless and poor artists in San Francisco.  Promoting and giving access to art in the Tenderloin, Desmond feels, will allow his project to live on in the community for years and generations to come.

Yeah, yeah, we know everyone’s at WMC now, but Dante Ross recently posted video on his High Snobiety blog from the “Texas Takeover” Fools Gold showcase at SXSW.

Pro-Keds presents The Cool Kids rocking with Travis Barker of Blink 182 fame and DJ A-Trak of Fools Gold Records. The song is called “JumpDown” and is from Travis’ forthcoming Interscope records project. “The show was great the audio a little rough but it works.”
