Sorry, we got this message too late for the opening, but it’s still important work…
N*ggaSh*t , the show, is a commentary on the current state of where we are as a people within, and built out of the age old traditions of slavery, genocide, illiteracy, and the evolution of our resiliency to survive. The works seek to investigate some of the icons that have played a role in the “dumbing down” of our American culture and stomp out their historic relevancy with a modern day twist.
Bicasso (Josh Whitaker) and Z-man (Zamon ) have come together to diagnose these sicknesses, habits and distractions that all fall under N*iggaShi*t, as they see them thru their creative eye, and hold a mirror up to up and say “Wake up! We ARE the future.
Show is up now at the Lower Haters Gallery at 597 Haight St, SF CA 94117

So, a friend of mine had a bunch of really amazing cookies made for me for my birthday a couple of months ago. And so I asked the amazing baker to make her some cookies as well (my friend is a HUGE Amanda Visell fan). Thought they turned out crazy good!

UncategorizedComments Off on Too Fast to Live, Too Young to Die – Malcolm McLaren RIP
Ah, can’t tell you how obsessed my friends and I were with all things Malcolm McLaren touched when we were teenagers. Definitely planted the seedlings for my whole style aesthetic (or what I thought was cool, anyway). After battling cancer, I hope he is at peace.

UncategorizedComments Off on Stones Throw Office Visit
We usually communicate with Stones Throw via email or see them at shows…we haven’t had a face to face meeting in years, but we were recently in L.A. to chop it up in person. PB Wolf was in the studio, but we did see J.Rocc (and I think briefly Krondon?) roll through.

Kota handles distribution in Japan.
Joe was coordinating new releases & production with their distributors.
Egon!
Nate, who handles all the digital distribution. He’s also the proprietor of Innovative Leisure Records featuring releases from Laser Sword (from SF) and Mexicans with Guns.

And some of the other pieces have DOOM stencils.
ST HQ also happens to be down the street from the very first Forever 21 (still called “Fashion 21”) . Not sure that the local residents even realize all of the empire-building taking place in their neighborhood.
