Yeah, we’re that Nobody.
De La’s new album, and the Anonymous Nobody, out today. Instead of dealing with the sample clearance from their past albums, they assembled musicians to jam and recorded over 200 hours of live music. They then launched a successful Kickstarter, while going through the music and constructing new songs.
The album feature some more mature musings about mortality, infidelity, and even royalties. Gorillaz’ collaborator Damon Albarn makes an appearance as well as Justin Hawkins, David Byrne, Little Dragon, Snoop and 2Chainz. The album begins with a glorious intro from Jill Scott:
