This summer, Youth Speaks Inc & the Brave New Voices National Network brought over 500 poets from throughout the world to Los Angeles to participate in Brave New Voices International Youth Poetry Slam Festival; the largest youth poetry festival ever.

This week HBO presents  Brave New Voices 2010, featuring highlights from the final round of the monumental event hosted by Common and Rosario Dawson.   It airs October 23, 2010 at 11pm.

Youth Speaks’ Brave New Voices Grand Slam Finals were this past weekend in L.A.   Crazy guests like Common & Rosario Dawson, but of course the real stars were the poets.  A small sampling of photos by Adriel Luis.  Also check his group, Ill-Literacy.
