Following up their previous collaboration on the track Road to Zion from Damian Marley’s stellar Welcome to Jamrock album, Nas and Jr. Gong offer a preview into their latest development from the upcoming album Distant Relatives. A release date still hasn’t been announced, but this video gives a much better understanding of its content, inspired by Nas and Damian’s shared African ancestry.

What started off as a chance encounter has turned into one man’s dream come true. One random day back on Dec 2008, Tyler Gibney of HVW8 fame was minding his own business working away when he heard some sweet sounds pouring out from behind The Gallery. Captivated by this sound, he grabbed his camera and secretly captured this performance which became an overnight sensation on the internet. Unbeknownst to Ty, the man behind these soulful sounds was Red, a 38 year old homeless man living on the streets of LA. Word traveled fast of Red and this track which caught the attention of everyone at Stones Throw, in particular fellow G-Funk enthusiast Dam-Funk who kills it on the remix tip.
Coming soon on Stones Throw:
