• $10-$20 Donations will be collected at the door (nobody turned away for a lack of funds), of which 100% will go directly to TOPH.

• All of the DJs are donating their talents (so buy them a drink!)
All to raise funds for our comrade who has been dealt a serious set back.

Other ways you can help:
• Donate any goods that can be sold for a “silent auction” during the event.

Mr. Dibbs Benefit

Uncategorized Comments Off on Mr. Dibbs Benefit

We were distressed to learn that Mr. Dibbs is battlingCirrhosis, which is the final phase of chronic liver disease.  Friends have put together this event at Honey tonight featuring Sector 7G, Kristoff Krane, Zac HB and Ackronem. Every penny raised will go directly to Dibbs.  No one will be turned away from the door due to lack of funds.

Details: Monday, Nov. 21st / Honey MPLS / 8:30 PM / $7 / 18+

Dibbs is no longer able to work due to his debilitating condition, so we’re kindly requesting that people step up and help ease the financial pains while he deals with the physical ones. Any amount would help.  To donate money you can go Paypal to the address: Hellkitchen@netzero.com  (Mr. Dibb’s wife, Kristin Rose’s account).  If you don’t have a credit card to donate through PayPal, you can send directly to:

Brad Forste
4830 Poplar St
Cincinati, OH 45212

You can also buy something from the Mr. Dibb’s page on our site, and we will send a donation in for you.

You can keep up with his progress by following him on twitter www.twitter.com/mrdibbs.

RJD2’s Beats for Japan

Uncategorized Comments Off on RJD2’s Beats for Japan

RJ auctioned some exclusive tracks on ebay to benefit Doctors without Borders:

“I decided to do a one-time-only auction of some tracks I’ve been sitting on with all proceeds going to Doctors Without Borders. This donation, while instigated by the situation in Japan, will be “untethered”, in that DWB does not earmark donations for specific regional causes; in short, they put resources towards where needs are highest. ”

The winning bidder will receive exclusive rights to the track, including the original ProTools session files.   You can check the auctions here (sorry, we snoozed, they ended this weekend) but also listen to snippets here.

Good tunes, pizza and beer, and a good cause…

Established in 1996 by Andrew Jervis (Ubiquity Records), The Friday Night Session is a Bay Area institution with a loyal following both locally and worldwide. Playing a consistently vibrant selection of electronic music over the San Francisco airwaves, The Friday Night Session draws on the links between contemporary music and more vintage sounds and features exclusive unreleased cuts, DJ mixes, in-studio guests and ticket giveaways to the best local events. It’s a great way to find out about new music, and either wind-up your week or get into weekend mode. The Friday Night Session runs from 10pm until 12pm every week on 90.3 FM KUSF in San Francisco, it’s also broadcast live on the net at live365.com. Playlist and shows are available in streaming format on fridaynightsession.com. The show is currently hosted by San Francisco DJs Andrew Jervis (A&R, Ubiquity Records), Mikebee (electronic music buyer for Amoeba, San Francisco), Tomas Palermo (writer, DJ and former editor of XLR8R magazine) and Cez Gonsalves (Just Good Music).

Previous guests include: Gilles Peterson, Kruder and Dorfmeister, 4Hero, Alice Russell, Koop, DJ Vadim, Windsurf, Quantic, John Tejada, Jimpster, Fauna Flash, and King Britt.

So why a benefit? Unfortunately KUSF doesn’t run on good will alone, we need the $’s! So the good folks at Jupiter are allowing us to invade Berkeley and make a little $ for the show. Come on down, get some good eats, hear a Friday Night Session selection and show your support. The event is free, with the DJs donating their earnings to the station. We’ll take donations on the night or even just “hellos”, whatever you can afford.
